Late last year, the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) released an updated definition of dyslexia reflecting advances in research across cognitive science, neuroscience, and reading development.

This workshop will provide a structured examination of the new definition and will clarify the research evidence supporting the updates.

Together, we will:

  • Explore key changes from the previous definition

  • Examine the empirical rationale behind those changes

  • Clarify their significance for accurate dyslexia intervention

  • Consider instructional and intervention implications

Attendees will receive a concise reference guide to the supporting research, along with a side-by-side overview comparing the former and current IDA definitions, to support ongoing professional practice and decision-making.
