Late last year, the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) released an updated definition of dyslexia reflecting advances in research across cognitive science, neuroscience, and reading development.
This workshop will provide a structured examination of the new definition and will clarify the research evidence supporting the updates.
Togeter, we will:
explore key changes from the previous definition
examine the empirical rationale behind those changes
clarify their significance for accurate dyslexia intervention
consider instructional and intervention implications
Attendees will receive a concise reference guide to the supporting research, along with a side-by-side overview comparing the former and current IDA definitions, to support ongoing professional practice and decision-making.
